Changes in Class Enrollment Requirements Effective 8/19/2009

Ady’s has been very blessed, especially in the last few months, with the growth that we are experiencing. I never in my wildest dreams expected to be in a shop the size we are; to have the number of guests we do or have the number of people who have asked to receive our newsletters. I remember when we hit 100 email addresses and I was sooo thrilled!  Now, the downside of all this is that I'm going to have to set some guidelines for class enrollments especially when not paying for the class when enrolling.

From here on we will be requesting credit card information to hold your place in the class if you do not pay when signing up for the class. I think Ady’s is the only shop that has not always done this, but we now have several outside instructors all teaching different things and one of two things can happen. One, each instructor sets a minimum number of students that they will come to the shop to teach; they come prepared to teach and we have a no show, which causes the class to fall below their minimum, I have to pay the instructor as if that student did show up. Secondly, and what happens more often, is that we have a full class with  people on the wait list; we have a no show which means that whomever is on the wait list misses out on the class and the instructor is compensated less than they might have gotten.

If you sign up for a class and cancel less than 24 hours of when the class is scheduled and has met the minimum the fee can be applied to a future class you would like to take; if it has not met the minimum you will forfeit the class fee.  More than 24 hours notice and you get a full refund. I think most shops set the deadline at 48 hours to cancel for a full refund but I've chosen to try the 24.

Thank you for understanding.
